25+ years of putting SAP Business One into Indian businesses taught us where the answers are buried. NeelAI goes and gets them — in plain English, on your own server, with the rows behind every figure shown to you every single time.

Tri-Layer Architecture

NeelAI sits between the person asking and the database holding the answer. Scroll to go through it a layer at a time.

Who asks
anyone with a browser
What crosses
a sentence, going down
What comes back
rows, coming up

Layer 1 02 / 05

Whoever asks

A browser, on any device, with no SAP licence and no SQL. The question goes in the way you would say it out loud — “which customers owe us the most?” — and the only thing that leaves this layer is that sentence.

Needs
a browser. No SAP client, no licence
Sends
the question text, nothing else
Gets back
a grid, a chart and the checks

Layer 2 03 / 05

NeelAI, on your server

Reads your schema — the user-defined fields and the customisations included — resolves “this quarter” to your fiscal calendar, writes the SQL, and runs it. Installed beside HANA; nothing is added to the ERP server itself.

Reads
CUFD, OUTB, OUQR — your fields and tables
Resolves
OFPR posting periods, so Q2 is Jul–Sep
Writes
one SELECT, kept on your server

Layer 3 04 / 05

Your database

SAP Business One on HANA, queried through a login granted SELECT and nothing else. The rows come back up the stack to the person who asked and are never written down anywhere along the way.

Connects as
a login with SELECT and no other verb
Touches
the company schema, read-only, no temp objects
Typical
412 ms, inside your own network

Your Data Stays with You!

The question and the names of your tables go out to a language model. The rows do not, the credentials do not, and no copy of your data is kept once the tab is closed.

Leaves
the question, and table and column names
Never leaves
credentials, and full result sets
Kept
the question and the SQL. Not the rows

Ask Anything

A question in plain English against your own SAP Business One database, answered with the rows behind it.

Dashboards on Day One

17+ of them, built against your data rather than sample data. No semantic layer to model first.

The Statutory Checks

GSTIN registrations, input tax credit at risk, and the master data problems that quietly cost you money.

02 One question, all the way through

“Why is our input tax credit lower this quarter?”

A controller in Pune asked that in July, on a Tuesday, in a meeting. Under the old arrangement he would have had it by Thursday — two days after the decision was taken without it. Here is the whole thing instead, including the parts most tools keep to themselves. Eleven seconds, start to finish.

The figures are from a demo company. The shape of the answer is not.

  1. Your schema, your own fields included

It read how the database is built — the supplier invoice tables, and the GST status field somebody on your team added in 2019. Not one row of data was read to do that.
  2. Your financial year, not a calendar one

“This quarter” resolved to July–September, because that is what it means in India. Nobody had to say so, and nobody had to correct it afterwards.
  3. The working, shown

Tax by supplier, against the business partner master, open documents only. The rows behind each figure arrived with the answer rather than behind it.
  4. Run on your own server, read-only

412 ms, inside the customer's own network, through a database login granted SELECT and nothing else.
  5. The answer nobody expected

Credit was not down at all. Four suppliers had cancelled their registrations mid-quarter, and ₹3.7 lakh of claimed credit was sitting against invoices from them.
  6. Provable in the meeting, by someone else

Finance ticked the four names off against the ledger and they were all there. That is the difference between an answer and a number on a slide.
03 What you actually get

Six claims, and the evidence for each

Anyone can write six bullet points. Each of these is showing you the thing it claims, on this page, now.

Claim one

The ordering is the answer

Rows come back in whatever order the table held them. Putting them in rank order is a decision, and it is the one you asked for — so you get to watch it being made.

Rajhans Polymers ₹41,20,880
Deccan Auto Spares ₹28,64,110
Sunbeam Pharma ₹19,05,400
Umang Industries ₹13,80,220
Tejas Castings ₹8,74,900
The answer carries its receipt

Every number comes with the rows behind it

Not a summary of what it did: the rows each figure was built from, and the checks they passed on the way. Tick them off against your ledger. If they do not tie, that is a bug and we want to hear about it.

04 Why not a generic BI tool

Power BI, Metabase and the rest are good products and we have implemented plenty of them. They will all show you where a number came from. That is not the difference. The difference is that those start as an empty canvas over seven hundred SAP tables, and this one turns up already knowing what OINV is, which of your fields are the ones somebody added, and that your year starts in April.

Generic BI, time to first real answer

0 weeks, typically

Model the schema, define the measures, agree the names

NeelAI, time to first real answer

one afternoon

Because the modelling is the part that already exists

  1. Before the first answer

Model a semantic layer over 700+ SAP tables

Connect, introspect, ask — same afternoon

  2. Table names

You teach it that OINV is sales invoices

It arrives knowing, and knowing INV1 holds the lines

  3. Your custom fields

Mapped by hand, re-mapped when they change

Read from the schema, U_ fields included

  4. Fiscal year

Configured, then configured again per report

April–March, because it is an Indian deployment

  5. GST

    A dimension somebody models

GSTIN, HSN, place of supply, ITC, reverse charge

  6. Dashboards

An empty canvas and a build phase

    17+, finished, on day one

  7. Who answers the phone

01Any suppliers with a cancelled GSTIN?

Credit taken against a registration that no longer exists does not stay quiet. It surfaces in an assessment two years later, with interest already running.

Hold the next payment to that vendor until a current certificate is on file.

  • 412Suppliers on the master
  • 7Not active today
  • ₹3.7 LCredit claimed against them

02Who is over their credit limit?

Somebody approved a line and three accounts are shipping past it. Nobody decided that. It happened one urgent order at a time, and it is still happening.

Either the limit moves on the master, or the next despatch waits.

  • 3Accounts past the line
  • ₹9.4 LShipped above it
  • 118%Worst of the three

03Where is stock sitting?

The money is parked in Pune and the shortages are all in Chennai. That is not a buying problem. It is a moving problem, and the two get confused often.

One transfer covers the six. A purchase order would have bought them twice.

  • ₹3.51 CrOn hand, three warehouses
  • 61%Of it parked in Pune
  • 6Items below minimum

04Which customers owe us the most?

Two names carry half of what is outstanding. Worked in that order it is a morning's calling. Worked alphabetically, which is how most ledgers get worked, it is a fortnight.

Start at Rajhans, and take the ageing with you so the call has dates in it.

  • ₹1.42 CrOutstanding today
  • 60Invoices still open
  • 49%Carried by two names

05What did we buy, and from whom?

Twenty-nine percent of a quarter with a single supplier reads fine until the week they put prices up and the file has no second quote in it.

Ask for one comparative before the renewal lands, not after.

  • ₹2.08 CrSpent last quarter

06Which invoices have no e-way bill?

Eighteen consignments a checkpost can stop. The invoices are already raised, so the exposure exists whether or not anyone in the office has noticed it yet.

08 Where NeelAI does not fit

When should you skip NeelAI?

We designed NeelAI with a philosophy that demands discipline. Hard decisions were made to give you the best experience possible. Unfortunately, the following cases do not tie into our philosophy for NeelAI. If you’re experiencing a pointed scenario, do notify us and we will guide you to an ideal solution.

  • Writing back to SAP

    Read-only, permanently

It is read-only by grant. Posting documents or updating master data is an add-on or the Service Layer, not this.

  • Filing a statutory return

    Not certified filing software

It will find what is wrong before you file, and says so plainly. It does not file.

  • Data outside SAP Business One

    One company database

If half the answer lives in Excel, a CRM or a website, you need a warehouse first.

  • A team with no SAP Business One

    Built on the SAP schema

There is nothing generic underneath to repoint at a different ERP.

  • Billions of rows, sub-second

An OLAP store will beat it

HANA is quick and so is this. Most SAP Business One sites are nowhere near that scale.

A note from the person responsible

Hello,

“Show me the insights. What am I going to do with these reports?”

I still remember these words from a meeting with a board member of a leading organization. He wanted more than reports from his ERP. He wanted answers, clarity and insights that could help him make better decisions.

That conversation stayed with me.

Over the years, business software (including ERP) has become increasingly powerful. AI has acted as the catalyst in this field as well. We have better reports, more data and sophisticated dashboards. Yet, one question remained: are we really helping business leaders understand what their data is telling them?

Reports tell you what has happened. But knowing what it means and what to do next is where the real value lies. And in business, a late insight can mean a missed opportunity.

I began thinking about this in a simpler way. What if people could simply ask questions about their business, get accurate answers, uncover actionable insights and explore the next steps, all through a natural conversation?

That thought became NeelAI – an intelligence layer for SAP Business One.

We wanted to build more than another AI chatbot. We wanted to put meaningful business intelligence and greater control directly into the hands of decision-makers.

No waiting for reports. No spending hours connecting the dots. Simply put, purely reliable answers and actionable insights when they matter most.

We are excited about what NeelAI can make possible, and this is only the beginning.

Accurate data. Actionable insights. Better decisions.
Ask Anything. Find Everything.

That is NeelAI.

Ready to grow your business - Today, Tomorrow, Forever.

Warm regards,

Nilesh Khutale
